Combating female genital mutilation

FGM remains a deeply ingrained practice in many communities within Northern Kenya and the Mandera Triangle, despite being illegal. Rooted in cultural beliefs, it is often seen as a rite of passage, a prerequisite for marriage, or a means of controlling female sexuality. However, FGM causes severe physical and psychological harm, including complications during childbirth, infections, and long-term trauma. Our approach addresses FGM through education, advocacy, law enforcement collaboration, and direct support for at-risk girls.

Our Key Initiatives:

Empowering At-Risk Girls

Girls at risk of FGM often lack access to protection, education, and support. Our intervention focuses on rescue, rehabilitation, and long-term empowerment.
